Founded in 2022 as a spin-off from Erasmus MC, Spatium Medical is a dynamic startup with 9 employees. Our mission is to launch our groundbreaking product by 2026 and continue expanding.

Led by Willem Mees, who brings over 20 years of experience in developing products for regulated fields like Medical Devices, our team is pioneering the world’s first medical insufflator for laparoscopy. This innovative device ensures a stable workspace at the lowest insufflation pressure, using three patented technologies to address critical needs.

What we are looking for

We seek an experienced R&D engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for guiding young professionals from concept through to detailed engineering, V&V, Design Transfer, certification, and implementation. You will drive innovation that enhances global health and quality of life.

In short

• An entrepreneurial mindset to build innovative products and a successful business.

• Strong stakeholder management skills.

• MSc in Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in Medical Device development.

• Proficiency with ISO13485, ISO14971, MDR.
